I'm trying to monitor the network activity of a specific process on w Win 2k8 server but I am unable to identify a method of doing it with perfmon.

Anyone here able to help?

Network IO is lumped together with disk IO in the form of \Process(*)\IO Data Operations/sec. Since they are lumped together (they are both IO request packet structures), it makes it difficult to know which process is responsible unless you can rule out disk activity.

If you need to know which process is responsible for network activity, then use the Windows Performance Recorder and Windows Performance Analyser tools to record and analyze the ETL traces which is very different than Performance Monitor. Go to for more information on these free tools from Microsoft.
