Number of cores when using hyperthreading

PAL asks how many Processors the system being analyzed has. How do I answer that question for a system with hyperthreading turned on? The task manager, for instance, shows double the number of cores the processor has. Yet it seems logical to me that the overall processing capacity of the server is equal to the actual number of cores it has. Which number should I input to PAL?

This question has come up before and I believe it's listed somewhere in the Discussions.  PAL and performance analysis wants the number shown in task manager aka the number of logical processors.

The number of processors is only used in the analysis of Context Switches/sec and based on the number of logical processors (all that you see in Task Manager). It is not critical to get this correct. As a matter of fact, I want to get PAL to auto-detect things like this as much as it can.
