Unsure about SQL log processing configuration

To start, great tool!

It's not clear to me how i should configure PAL to process SQL 2005 and 2008 named instance log counters.

For example the databases(*)\transactions/sec counter.

This is what i did:

I used the export feature to create a log template(based on the sql template), and imported it on the sql server. I know this is not enough to get the counters for the named instances in the log file, so i add them(the counters) manually to the log definition on windows 2003 server running SQL 2005.
After monitoring , and copying the blg file to my workstation, i start PAL and start processing the file using the SQL threshold file. No database counters show up in the html file, only the SQL server buffer, memory etc not belonging to the named instance.

What steps to i have to take to make the counters for the named instance appear in the html report?
I searched the discussions, but could not get a clear answer.

Please help me get started.

i did another report, this time with the "process all counters in the counter log" option selected. I now get the transaction/sec graphs in the databases counter node group.

Is this the only way? or can this be done more efficiently?
